List of Countries Participating in Rugby League World Cup 2022 – The Rugby League World Cup, one of the most spectacular sports events in the world, was supposed to be held last year. However, due to restrictions from the pandemic the Rugby League World Cup was postponed, after New Zealand and Australia both chose to withdraw due to health safety concerns. With two of the biggest teams out of count, the Rugby League World Cup was eventually postponed.
Fortunately for rugby fans, the Rugby League World Cup is scheduled to be hosted in 2022, most probably between the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Rugby World Cup 2022 is scheduled to start on Saturday, 15th October 2022 and the final match is to be held also on Saturday, 19th November 2022. The Rugby League World Cup 2022 for men’s teams will kick off with the first match at St. James’ Park in Newcastle.
Manchester is the host of the men’s and women’s double-header final at Old Trafford, while the wheelchair final will be held in Manchester Central.

Out of the 16 teams participating in this year’s men’s Rugby League World Cup, 5 of them are multiple winners from the past.
Australia has appeared in 16 Rugby League World Cup tournaments and played 79 matches till date. The team scored their first Rugby League World Cup title in 1957. The team has won 11 Rugby League World Cup titles since 1954, with the last being in 2017. Besides this, Australia has also reached the finals in three RLWC in the past.
England has qualified to play in the Rugby League World Cup 9 times, and has played a total of 42 matches till date. The team is a far second behind the leader with 3 Rugby League World Cup championships under their belt but they were also the leading champions when they won the first Rugby League World Cup during the first tournament in 1954. Since then, England has also reached the RLWC finals 4 times.
New Zealand has appeared 16 times in different Rugby League World Cup tournaments, having played 69 matches. The team won their one and only Rugby League World Cup title in 2008. Apart from this, the New Zealand side has been a finalist in 3 RWLC tournaments till date.
Lastly, France has qualified 16 times for the Rugby League World Cup, playing 60 matches in all, till date. The team has not won any titles but has been a finalist in 2 Rugby League World Cup tournaments.
